Adult Learning Opportunity: Beit Midrash
Our Spring Beit Midrash kicks off in February, when we meet at 7:00 pm in the Ohev Library on five consecutive Tuesdays beginning February 12. Each Tuesday we’ll split our hour between two topics. First is a focus on recent writings by Zionist thinkers, culled from “The Zionist Ideas: Visions for the Jewish Homeland — Then, Now, Tomorrow” by Gil Troy. It brings together a sizable number of primary sources in Zionist thought during the past two centuries. Purchase of the book is NOT REQUIRED for participants in Beit Midrash.
Second is a discussion about current events in Israel and the surrounding regions, with two special emphases: a) Israel’s national security and b) the religious and social dynamics of Israeli Society.
I look forward to engaging with you in lively discussions about our homeland and its people.
