This comprehensive, 250-page book provides a colorful history and background of the Greater Greater Kansas City Jewish community going back to its pre-Civil War roots and includes a personalized glimpse of some of the 5,000 listed veterans and their families.
The Jewish War Veterans (JWV) and the Braeman Family partnered with the Jewish Community Foundation (JCF) of Greater Kansas City to research, compile, edit and publish this tribute book.
An online preview of this “coffee table” book is available onwww.jcfkc.org/vets and can be purchased on the website for $25 (or $20 for veterans, their spouses or widows). Shipping for a small fee can be arranged to have the book sent directly to you or to the person of your choice. You can also purchase and pick up your copy(ies) at the JCF office at the JCC, just across from the entrance to the White Theater, during regular business hours.
Proceeds from sales will go into a special fund at Jewish Community Foundation to support the activities of local veterans through MO-KAN Post 605 of the JWV. For more information, contact Sheldon Turetsky.
