Shaw Scholar-in-Residence Weekend

The Annual Leah & Colleph Shaw Scholar-In-Residence Weekend is an annual event dedicated to the memory of Leah and Colleph Shaw (z”l). Through this endowed program, Congregation Ohev Sholom brings noted Jewish scholars to Kansas City for a weekend of Jewish learning.

The Scholar Weekend begins on Friday evening with Kabbalat Shabbat services at 6:00 p.m., followed by a delicious Shabbat dinner.

On Shabbat, our scholar presents the D’var Torah during Shabbat morning services. As we conclude our Kiddush luncheon following services, we return to our theme with another presentation by the Scholar-in-Residence.

At 5:00 p.m. we will reconvene for Mincha, Seudah Shlishit (our third meal) and a continued discussion.

On Sunday, we hold morning minyan at 9:30 a.m., followed by Ohev’s popular gourmet breakfast, where we continue with our weekend theme with a final talk.
