Sanctuary Gets New Carpet and Chairs
Congregation Ohev Sholom substantially upgraded the Rabbi Marshall Miller Sanctuary and Bodker Chapel during August and September this summer. A Sanctuary Enhancement Committee, chaired by Mike Kolb, has been working for over a year on the plan to upgrade our facilities.

New carpeting is installed throughout the upper floor of the sanctuary – social hall building including the stairs, the vestibule, Miller Sanctuary and Bodker Chapel.
Most of our current pews are removed and replaced by new, larger, more comfortable self standing chairs. Some of the current pews are retained in Miller Sanctuary to provide maximum seating capability.
The goal of the Sanctuary Enhancement Committee was not only to upgrade the Sanctuary and synagogue but to provide a space for more intimate, connected prayer experiences. The addition of free standing chairs will permit us to arrange the room for smaller groups or larger groups involved in prayer and other activities.
Financing of the project was provided by the Congregation’s capital campaign created by the generosity of congregants and others over the past 7 to 10 years.
We are excited about our new look and look forward to many years of enjoyment of our enhanced Miller Sanctuary and Bodker Chapel.
